Description
Fun facts about Typhon.
Typhon was an uncle at birth, he was the son of Geia and Tartarus, half brother of Kronos and thus half uncle of Zeus.
But he was given birth to AFTER Zeus and the other Olympians had fought his bretheren the Titans and Gigantes.
Also Typhon is the absolute most terrifying monster of Greek myth, no competition.
Typhon's destructive force and terrible nature was enough to send ALL THE GODS, except for Zeus, fleeing!
That includes gods like Hades, Ares, Hephaestus, Poseidon, Hera, Athena and many other deities of immense power and status.
Zeus was the only being that dared stand against him, and only defeated him by trapping him beneath mount Etna.
Further more prior to his imprisonment Typhon coupled with Echidna the Mother of Monsters and gave birth to some of the most known and iconic monsters to ever grace myth and legend.
Including but not limited to:
Cerberus
Orthus
Sphinx
The Nemean Lion
The Lernean Hydra
Ladon the Dragon
Chimera
Typhon is a force of nature that can only and has often been described as Draconic in nature.
Whilst my portrayal of him might not be the most draconic, it does echo his description in greek myth.
A being of colossal size who's arms reach across the skies and are adorned with a thousand dragon heads, who's lower body is composed of serpentine coils, who's eyes shoot fire and is covered in wings.
The only part that I must admit doesn't fit is that his upper torso is described as that of a human.
Regardless, here we are, me on Deviant art with one of my latest and best pieces of artwork I have ever drawn.
